Consumer Report on hacking security systems

This is a great article on ten security DIY Do it Yourself Systems

ARTICLE

The security systems we install here at Peak Alarm are encrypted/frequency hopping systems.

Many alarm systems can be hacked with a simple low cost RF Jammer.

Our DMP and Qolsys systems have two way communications which is much better than the old wireless or the less expensive wireless. Both of these brands have 900mhz wireless which has a much longer range.

DIY Do it yourself systems are good for some people although for others not only do many of them not meet their needs but the systems don’t meet the insurance requirements for many companies when it comes to the UL listed Central Station, the temperature sensors, heat, smoke and gas sensors that some insurance companies require.
