Plan submittal check off list

Fire Alarm Submittal check off list as per  IBC 907.1 – NFPA 72 7.44- 7.5

This is a simplified check off list for fire alarm submittals with plans your local 3rd party reviewer or Fire Marshal may have additional requirements although this is a basic list and you should refer to the code references above for more details.

___ Plans w/ address, riser, appliances, devices, north arrow & scale.

____All rooms need to be marked for usage (Conference room etc…)

___All Horn-strobes and strobes need the cd marked on them 

___Wiring diagram specific to project

____Battery Calculations / Voltage line drop calculations

____Data Sheets for all equipment (Specific items highlighted)

____Conductor Type and sizes (18g4c / 14g2c FPLP, FPLR FPL)

____Ceiling Height and construction (Metal, wood, brick etc…)

General notes: Voice evac/mass notification will have different requirements.

1.    Smoke detector at FACP panel and NAC panels and at communicator location if different location.

2.    At least one pull station even on fully sprinkled buildings.

3.    If the building is not sprinkled it may require more protection.

4.    Local AHJ Fire Marshal may have additional requirements.

5. New code requires low frequency horns in sleeping rooms and many times in the living rooms as well on new buildings. These low frequency have a much higher current draw so power supplies have to be planned out to handle them. On ADA rooms low frequency horn/strobes are required.
