Please send us your plans, specifications and bid dates and times as soon as you can so we have enough time to get the pricing done for you.

Once we have pricing put together we will send you a proposal

We will need a new customer application filled out and a W9 form in order to get your company into our system. We will also need the DWG drawings so we can have our designers being the design and submittals.

Plan on 3 or 4 weeks after we get a signed proposal or PO in order to get the CAD drawings done and submitted to the City so we can get 3rd party reviews when needed and fire marshal approval.

Plan on a 15% mobilization fee so we can get equipment ordered and the job on the schedule.

Make sure you give us any time tables that need to be met we will need to plan ahead to try and accommodate your schedule.

We will need to know if the job will be done in phases or if it will be one phase.

The Electrical Contractor will need to do the conduit, high voltage work, providing and installing the proper FPL, FPLP or FPLR fire wire.

Johnson Controls Fire Protection JCFP will do the programming, testing and certification of the fire alarm system.

In the bidding process we strive to notify you of issues from the bid documents that need to be addressed in order to avoid change orders such as items missing from the plans that will be needed to meet code or fire marshal approval.

Often the PE Electrical Engineer will put a statement on the plans that says the fire alarm system will need to be designed to meet code and local fire marshal requirements. They do this although often they miss items on the plans so what we strive to do is to provide you with a price as per the drawings and what is shown on the plans and sometimes we give you an ADD ALT to meet code.

Many companies will bid what is on the plans and then try to get changes approved later on.

Items in the specifications such as 5 year warranties or special 2 year software update agreements or additional spare equipment will add to the cost of the project so if value engineering is needed let us know because sometimes the engineer will put things in the specification that are not required and not needed which makes the price go way up when the job could be done for less.

Know that many projects require systems that are more complex than others and Simplex is built for doing things that many other systems cannot do such as the tie in to 100 suppression systems into one Simplex 4100ES panel when no other panel can do this. For this reason and many others Simplex is a preferred brand for Airports because we can Network thousands of points together effectively and our systems can tie into Smoke Control and be programmed to do things that other panels cannot such as the installation of addressable Speaker Strobes and Horn Strobes allowing testing to be done quickly without downtime.
