Some of the Activities Larry Love in Salt Lake City has been involved with in the last few of years.

Some of the activities I have been involved with in the last few years:

1. CERT Instructor in Spanish / English - We teach Emergency preparation including cribbing to lift heavy objects off of people that are trapped, first aid, disaster phycology, light search and rescue and the class is 21-24 hours long. We are starting a new class this Tues and another class that will be on Thursdays starting on the 17th of May 2012.

2. State and County Delegate - Currently I am a County delegate

3. Hispanic Scout Master - I was involved in this more 2 years ago than now but I am still registered and I am involved with the boys and leadership as well.

4. Member of the Construction Trades Commission which is a policy making board for DOPL and I was also the Chairman of the Alarm Systems board for Utah. I was appointed by the Governor and then after several years my terms were up.

5. Trained legal observer for ACLU - I went to the training and I have officially done one event. Legal observers do not get involved in protests but just take pictures and take audio and or video recordings of what happens between the people and the police etc... Legal observers are not on anyones side but they are there to record the event. Many times they are required to testify in court in behalf of either side depending on what happened.

6. Comunidades Unidas Volunteer - Certified Democracy School Instructor - I have not done this for a couple of years although this program is incredible and they do so much good in the community.

7. I had the opportunity to open the Utah State Senate session with prayer in 2011

8. In 2010 I was able to be one of the Speakers at the Unitarian Church Conference along with Bishop Tanner and Bishop Wester.

9. Human Rights activist - Attending different events show the diversity of the people, some of them are extreme and others are more reasonable.

10. I teach Saturday Karate classes for free and I have done this for years now to children that cannot afford to pay for classes.

11. Husband and Father - This is the most important thing I have been doing and the most challenging as well. I try to cook for my family and at least talk to them individually in between their text messages. lol. As parents we don't have all the answers and I tell my kids that we don't expect them to be perfect although we hope they can make more good choices than bad ones. I know it is harder to be a teenager in these times than it was for me in the 1970's. I have 5 kids, 2 are married and no longer living with us, my 18 year old Son Josh is living on his own now and I have 2 more at home. One 16 year old girl that is way to beautiful and a 13 year old that is almost 14 that is great at sports. We attend my son's games and my 18 year old will graduate High School this month.

12. We started a business where we make rosaries and necklaces and this year we put them on the web. Actually we put them on Ebay and Istsy last year but we did not sell any of them. We also took them to the swap meet but did not sell any of them there either. I design them and my son helps me make them and we now have almost 200 of them ready and boxed. We got a business license and a tax number in order to do this business.

13. I just took the motorcycle test last week and passed it and now I need to take the road test on the 11th.

14. Currently I meet every Sunday to direct a mixed Choir and it has been a joy in my life. Andres Paredes has written origional music for the Choir and the last women's choir I directed. I also sing in Tongan Choir so music is still a big part of my life.

15. I have been a medical Interpreter for Linguistica International for the past 2 years now and I enjoy doing it. They send me to different clinics and Hosptials.

16. Being a Padrino twice and this is also a super important calling in life and an honor. One of my ahijadas is shown above.
