Solution when you don't have analog phone lines
Analog phone lines are going away and being replaced with digital phone lines which often are VOIP voice over IP.
This works in many cases but not for Fire Alarm, Elevator phones, Security systems and other items that require battery backup and actual analog lines.
The Elevator phones are programmed with an initial message that gives the dispatcher at the central station the account number and the address but with digital lines it opens the communication but often does not transmit the message so if someone is stuck in an elevator the dispatcher will not know where they are and often people that are stuck will not have the address.
Analog lines were traditionally 48-54 volts and if the fire panel does not have that voltage it does not see a phone line. When the digital phone systems tell you they can provide analog lines they KINDA can meaning they up the voltage although they cannot seize the lines nor does it have battery backup and it is not UL listed for Fire.
PIAB POTS IN A BOX through Johnson Controls Fire Protection and Mytell can solve this issue.
If you just need one phone line for your fire alarm panel we will install a Cellular Communicator to solve that issue and we will provide you with monitoring as well.
If you need several analog phone lines for Elevators, Security systems, Fire Alarm and Emergency phones such as Two Way Voice or Area of Refuge phones the POTS IN A BOX can give you up to 8 analog phone lines and it is easy, we have a tech install it.
